    RESEARCH INTERESTS
    She has extensively published on multimodal discourse studies and digital textuality (c. 80 publications). In particular, her research strands can be divided along three main lines:
    - Theoretical analysis of meaning-making and semiosis of communication from a multimodal perspective within the framework of systemic-functional grammar;
    - Empirical studies blending qualitative and quantitative methodologies, respectively grounded on corpus linguistics with a focus on keyness analysis for verbal data and on critical multimodal discourse studies for visual data;
    - Development of heuristics to unpack and analyse interactional phenomena typical of digital environments, with specific reference to video-mediated communication and blogging and with a focus on the interplay of spoken and written discourse in digital environments (i.e. mode-switching) and how language and other meaning-making systems, including but not limited to visuals, are interlaced in mediated digital contexts.
